In a car there are several types of light that serves different purpose. But, the main objective is to provide visibility for the driver especially in the event of poor visibility. Also, it let other drivers see what another car is doing.

Indeed, it is important to keep in mind that it is very dangerous to run a car without functioning tail lights as it is one key to firing up a vehicular accident.
