Sharp unveils AQUOS Quattron 3D

3D seems to have definitely taken off this year, prompting various display makers to create monitors and TVs capable of a refresh rate of at least 120Hz, and Sharp has just announced that it has begun selling its high-grade AQUOS Quattron 3D TVs. Sharp prepared two distinct LED-backlit HDTVs with 3D support, both with very large screen sizes, of up to 60 inches to be exact.

The 52-inch model goes by the name of LC-52LE925UN, whereas the 60-incher is called LC-60LE925UN. Both of them boast side-mount scanning LED backlights and have, among other things, a dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1, plus IP control. What also makes them stand out, however, besides their huge sizes of course, is that they integrate an Ethernet port and can be paired with a WiFi adapter.

Other features of the newcomers include the ability to convert 2D content to 3D, though the 3D glasses themselves are especially noteworthy. Simply put, they allows users to watch the same content in 2D or 3D simultaneously, by use of a 3D-2D conversion button.

Family Vacation Worries

We all have hectic lives, especially those of us that are parents. I have a home alarm system in my home. On one of our trips, I was loading up the car, buckled my children in and then had to run back to the car because my son had to go to the bathroom for the twentieth time. We were heading on a three day vacation to Virginia. We were already hours behind and my husband was rushing me to get going so that we could leave. I accidentally shut the door and forgot to activate my wireless home security system. I felt stupid because it should not have happened at all. I had checked the stove, locked the doors, and made sure the mail was stopped, but I had forgotten to set the alarm and keep my home secured.

Being a parent, it is hard to leave your home and go on a trip because you are always afraid that someone will break into your home and steal your personal items. Some of my family’s most precious heirlooms are in my home. I felt less secure without the security system set even though I had locked all of the locks in my home and had deadbolts on all of my doors also. In my opinion, you can never secure your home too much. The family heirlooms in my home if they had been stolen it would be impossible to replace them. What make the items so valuable are the memories that are behind them. You can never replace those even if the item is replaced somehow.

Wireless home security systems are a great addition to any home. As a parent, your home is your base and provides comfort to you and your family members. If a burglary happens then you and your children will feel unsafe for a long period of time. It is hard for me to sleep at night unless I activate my wireless home security system.

Sometime in March, Asus introduced to the market the newest Designo LCD monitor, the Designo LS246H that offers style with an eco-friendly construction as well as high performance.

ASUS’ fresh display is constructed with a mirror-finished front bezel and has a transparent, crystalline base. Its profile measures only 16.5 mm and the stand is ring-shaped and boasts the Ergo-Fit technology, which allows end-users to make tilt angle adjustments with just one finger. Creative has announced that it has completed not only its PCI-E Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD for PCs, but also its USB Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB digital audio system. These two provide the highest quality audio playback of any sound products we have ever introduced, over a period of time where we have sold more than 400 million Sound Blaster cards according to Steve Erickson, vice president and general manager of audio and video at Creative.

The PCI Express card has a headphone output of up to 115dB 33 Ohms, and 117dB, 330 Ohms, at 24bit/96kHz and an RCA Line Out output of up to 122dB, 24-bit/96kHz. It also has replaceable Op-amps, hardware-accelerated 3D positional audio and EAX 5.0 effects and Dolby Digital and DTS encoding, for a one-step single-cable connection to home entertainment systems. The device also boasts the Creative Alchemy technology, which restores EAX and surround sound that is otherwise lost in DirectSound game titles running under Windows Vista and Windows 7. The Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB digital audio system comes with the THX TruStudio PC and, through the USB connection, will bring advanced, HD audio to both desktops and laptops. Compact Mobile Computer from Nokia

One of the biggest mobile phone makers Nokia does not have only the release of new phones on its mind for the ongoing year, since some other devices are reported to be in the works as well. Among them we should be able to see a compact mobile computer based on ARM’s multi-core Sparrow chip, which has been unveiled only last week.

Last day news said that the upcoming Nokia Sparrow multi-core computer will be running under Linux OS. Sadly, although its specs are highly elevated, it seems that the actual device is expected to hit the market at a later time, perhaps sometime in 2011. But, the company already has a prototype of the device which would show that the upcoming Nokia Sparrow does not feature the same design line as the current netbooks do, rather it comes closer to the MID area, while also resembling in a way Nokia’s N800 Internet tablet.

With this compact mobile computer, it is expected to come with multi-slide keyboard, providing different layouts/keys in accordance to the direction in which it is slid. At the same time, the display of the device is also able to slide in different directions offering these way different functionalities, somehow like the Nokia N97 tilting display. The keyboard also of the upcoming Nokia computer seems to come with a diamond shape and elevated keys inverted to each other. What is interesting thing about the Nokia Sparrow is its new, transparent widget-based interface. Each application that is running on the computer will get its own semi-transparent widget where it will place its content. At the same time, multiple applications can be stored in the memory for long periods of time.
